About Bali Heritage Pigs

At Bali Heritage Pigs, everything begins with a simple belief: nature already knows the way. We are here to follow it.

Set within a living, breathing landscape, our farm was not built to control the land, but to move with it. Guided by permaculture principles, each element is thoughtfully placed to support the others, fostering balance and renewal. Rainwater is gathered and filtered as it falls, nourishing the soil that feeds our crops. Those same crops grow alongside our animals, while natural fertilisation gently returns nutrients back to the earth, completing a cycle that has existed long before us.

There is no excess here, no force, no compromise. Only a system that listens, adapts, and gives back in equal measure. This is how we maintain a truly 100% organic environment: by respecting the natural flow of life and allowing it to unfold as it should. The result is a reflection of healthy land, careful stewardship, and a deeper connection to where it all begins. Because here, everything has a role, and every role has meaning.

We're Here to Set a New Standard.

High-welfare Farming

We believe that exceptional food begins with respect. Seen, felt, and practised every day.

At Bali Heritage Pigs, transparency is a standard. Our farming approach is grounded in ethical care, where animals are raised in a calm, natural environment, free from harmful treatments or unnecessary intervention. They are given the space to grow as they should, guided by instinct, not intensity.

This commitment to high welfare is inseparable from our responsibility to the land. By nurturing both animal wellbeing and environmental balance, we create a system where health flows through every layer. From soil, to feed, to life itself.

What you taste is the honest result of time, care, and a farming philosophy that chooses integrity over shortcuts, because true quality cannot be manufactured. It can only be raised with intention.

Heritage Breeds

Bangkal Hitam, Whites, Heritage Farm Breed.

Our philosophy extends beyond how we raise our animals. It is equally reflected in the lineage we choose to nurture. We work with two distinct yet equally respected pig lines, each raised under the same uncompromising standards of high welfare, organic feeding, and open access to outdoor paddocks. Alongside our signature black pigs, we carefully cultivate a selected mix of Duroc, Yorkshire, and Landrace genetics, breeds known for their balance of flavour, texture, and resilience.

Over time, these lines are sometimes naturally crossed with our black pigs, giving rise to what we call our Heritage Farm Breed, an expression of thoughtful breeding, shaped by both tradition and environment.

The result is not engineered, but guided. A breed that reflects the character of our land, the integrity of our practices, and a continued pursuit of depth, quality, and distinction in every cut.

Ducks, Homegrown Herbs & Fruits

Raised in the cool highlands of Bali, our Pekin ducks thrive in an environment shaped by nature and guided by the principles of a circular farming system. Here, the land, water, and surrounding ecosystem work together in a quiet balance that supports a more thoughtful and regenerative way of farming.

Each duck is organically raised with open access to roam freely, allowing natural behaviours to unfold as they should. We never use harmful chemicals, added hormones, or steroids. Only honest farming practices, grounded in care, patience, and respect for the animal.

Alongside our ducks, we cultivate a selection of homegrown herbs and seasonal fruits, grown naturally within the same ecosystem that nourishes our farm. These ingredients are more than accompaniments; they are part of a connected landscape where everything is grown with intention and nothing exists in isolation.

Homegrown Feed

Exceptional culinary experiences begin at the very root. Our dedication to producing the highest quality pork dictates a lifestyle of absolute freedom and meticulous nourishment for our herds. The exquisite texture, signature tenderness, and rich flavour profiles we are known for are cultivated through the time and space to roam.

Reared on open pastures, our pigs enjoy a completely natural, organic diet derived entirely from our own land. We cultivate a pristine mix of non-GMO grains, native corn, sun-ripened papaya, and hand-harvested chayote, supplemented by an unlimited source of crystal-clear water. By controlling every element of their environment and sustenance, we capture a purity of flavour that redefines the standards of fine dining.

Nose-to-tail Philosophy

True culinary integrity lies in respecting the whole animal. It is why Bali's most visionary chefs and restaurants trust us to anchor their menus. We supply whole carcasses exclusively to kitchens that share our deep reverence for provenance, sustainable husbandry, and peerless quality.

From exceptional charcuterie potential to premium primal cuts, our free-roam, organically fed pork delivers a depth of flavour that commands centre stage on any plate. Reach out to our team to explore a dedicated partnership and bring the true taste of our land to your guests.

Full Control of The Supply Chain

Bali Heritage Pigs stands alone as the island's only farm guaranteeing 100% control over our entire ecosystem and supply chain. We nurture a living, breathing circle of life where nothing is wasted, and everything has purpose.

Our land dictates our quality. We cultivate a rich biodiversity of estate-grown crops, including sun-ripened pumpkin, papaya, corn, and pristine barley. This botanical diet is masterfully balanced with high-protein azolla and black soldier fly larvae, cultivated directly on our farm to create the ultimate natural nourishment. Within this self-sustaining ecosystem, our animals, flora, and volcanic soil work in perfect synergy. Every natural output becomes a vital new resource, forging an uncompromised standard of purity you can taste on the plate.

No Shortcuts, No Mass Farming

At Bali Heritage Pigs, we don't manufacture pork. We grow it, and growth, when done properly, has natural limits. That is why we completely turn our backs on industrial, mass-farming practices. For us, every single step is personal. We source our pork exclusively from our own high-welfare farm, where our animals are raised with dignity and care. By managing our own in-house processing and cooking every dish entirely to order, we ensure that nothing is rushed and no corners are cut. It's a slower, more deliberate way of doing things, but when you taste the absolute freshness and depth of flavour on your plate, you'll understand exactly why we do it.

The Full Circle

Farm → Butchery → Kitchen

Our story is all about an unbroken circle of care, starting right from the ground up. It begins on the farm, butchered in-house, then the journey comes full circle right in our own kitchen.
